Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) builds capacity for observation, critical thinking and communicating ideas through viewing and discussing art.
This year’s Arts Learning Festival provides students and teachers a rare opportunity to engage with the VTS methodology and connect with art collections at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and the Docklands Public Art Walk.
It will be delivered over the three phases of the festival, with a combination of online and face-to-face delivery:
- Phase 1: VTS online (Scholarship teachers, Online)
- Phase 2: Virtual tour of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (Students and teachers, Online)
- Phase 3: Docklands Public Art Walk (Students and teachers, Face-to-face)
Through the lens of VTS, participants will explore the festival theme (Reimagine, Recreate, Renew) and how it can enhance learning and literacy across the curriculum.
