Let’s go fly a kite

High in the skies above Birrarung Marr near Federation Square, brilliantly coloured giant kites will fly against the spectacular backdrop of city skyline.

In a marquee below, students in years 4-6 will combine the fun of kite-making and flying with creativity and the basic principles of flight.

‘Kites can be so beautiful,’ says Jo Baker, from Kites 4 Kids. ‘You can put anything you want in the sky.’

Watch the video to see how the giant kites soared at our last festival, and get a taste of what’s in store when Let’s go fly a kite returns for our 2019 festival.
