Student Poetry Competition 2026 Finalist: Farewell to a Berry Best Principal

Farewell to a Berry Best Principal

Foundation – Year 2 Performance Poetry Finalist

Farewell to a berry best principal!

The big school tree is shaking

and my tummy kind of hurts,

Because our favarite principal

is packed and leaving first.

You always smile and greet us,

like a bright, sweet tangerine,

You’re the coolest, nicest principal

that I have ever seen.

Without you here at PEGS, the hallways

will feel a little blue,

like a mushy, bruised banana

that only brings sad news.

We’re sad you have to go away,

and leave PEGS behind,

But we hope your brand new adventure

is the berry bestest kind!

We miss you like crazy,

from our heads down to our feet,

Thank you Ms Hallman for making our

school so wonderfully sweet!
