Student Poetry Competition 2025 Finalist: All the Food in the World

All the Food in the World

by Lewis Schiavello, Rivercrest Christian College
Finalist, Foundation – Year 2, written poetry

If I was to eat all the food in the world,I wonder where I’d start?
Maybe pasta, maybe some bread, perhaps a blueberry tart.
I’d go to China and eat some rice, then I’d fly to Japan;
I’d feast on fugu, ramen and mochi, and all the sushi I can.
I’d sail to France for a baguette or two, and a croissant or three;
In Greece I’d eat olives and fetta and dips, and a big souvlaki.
In India I’d eat curry all day and cheesy naan bread at night;
Then finish my journey back home in Melbourne with a sandwich with Vegemite.

‘A delightful poem taking readers on a whimsical culinary journey around the globe.’
