Dear Wind
by Chloe Jia, Lauriston Girls’ School
Finalist, Foundation – Year 2, written poetry
Dear Wind,
I love you more than pizza and lemonade,
I love you more than flowers and sky,
I love you more than ice cream and milkshake,
I also, love you more than watermelon!
So dear wind, will you play with me?
Yes, Let’s ride and laugh
Can you hold me, just a bit?
To help me balance while I sit?
Wind, are you a boy or girl?
“I am a girl!”
Dear wind,
Help me run away from my shadow I want to!
Run faster then
As strong wind as you can!
Not working,
But it’s ok.
That’s great fun!
Wind, do you think I’m good at riding my bike?
“I do!”
Thank you Wind,
I’m home at last.
Bye-bye now,
See you next time!
‘A playful conversation with the wind, whimsical and heartfelt.’
