The Knight’s Quest
by Theodore Pruehss, Lysterfield Lake College
Finalist, Years 5 – 6, written poetry
Oh Sir Knight, Oh Sir Knight, how brave is thee?
With virtue and love as high as can be.
Oh knight, oh knight, on this valiant quest,
the knight on his horse goes galloping west.
You dash through the fields, the clouds roll by,
and the world is beautiful you musn’t lie.
You gallop through the forest, a scary sight!
A foe stares you down, with all its might!
A slash of your sword, a twang of your bow,
The world is now rid of this mighty foe.
The journey continues, you must move on,
and this is the tale of the knight named John.
Into the castle, the damsel awaits,
your story will be told through all the states.
You draw your good sword and you slice and slash,
the battle is over in a quick flash.
You rescue your maiden and grab her hand.
Your story will be told throughout the land.
