Message To The Moon Haiku

by Armaan Patel, Mount View Primary School
Years 5 – 6 Written Poetry Finalist

Moon made into light,

older than every story,

still teaching the night

In their own words

Listen to Armaan recite his poem:

How did writing this poem make you feel?

Very proud with how I came up with it.

Which single line in your poem are you the absolute proudest of?

The one line in my poem that I am most proud of is the first line, which is ‘Moon Made Into Light’. That is because of how god has made the moon which brightens the night sky.

Describe your poem in three words

Moonlight At Night.

Where is your absolute favourite place to sit when you are brainstorming ideas?

For me the most favourite place to sit when brainstorming ideas would be a corner where I am alone and no one is disturbing my chain of thoughts.

Why do you think people write poetry?

To express their emotions in a different way.
