The Delightful Watermelon
by Dylan Ziegler, Wesley College Melbourne
Years 3 – 4 Written Poetry Finalist
Like a giant sugary balloon
I enjoy it with a big spoon
Red like a summer sunset
One of the best fruit snacks, I bet.
Juicy, nice and sweet
I truly think it’s hard to beat
Red juices dribbles under my chin
I say let the messy eating begin!
The fruit is super good
The fresher the better it stood
The best fruit certainly in the bowl
I know it truly nourishes my soul!
