Transformative Repair encourages school communities to use artistic practice to explore ideas of damage, repair and new possibilities.
The Transformative Repair pilot project – conducted in collaboration between ISV and Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education – is a response to the upheavals felt by schools and their communities over recent years, including floods, bushfires and the lockdowns and restrictions.
It encourages individuals and communities to find purpose in times of uncertainty and challenge and to experiment with how the idea of repair can open up new opportunities.
This event will provide students with a dynamic space to explore images of damage in our world, both concrete and conceptual. Students will also engage in an artmaking activity that will help inspire and capture their ideas about the possibilities of repair.
The artefacts created during the workshop will be displayed as part of the Transformative Repair exhibition which will be on display at Docklands until June 24 2023.
